Use your camera or upload a photo or screenshot — the code is decoded instantly in your browser. We never see your images.
Most "online QR scanners" upload your image to their server, decode it there, and keep who-knows-what. This one runs the open-source jsQR decoder inside your browser: the camera frames and files are processed on your device and nowhere else. It is the same approach as our generator — your data is none of our business.
Any standard QR code: links, WiFi logins, vCards, plain text, payment URIs. Links get an Open button; everything else is shown as text with one-tap copy. Inverted (light-on-dark) codes are handled too.
Your phone camera scans natively — the full how-to for every device is in how to scan a QR code. This page is the answer for desktops, laptops, screenshots, and checking printed proofs before a run.

Yes — click "upload an image" and pick the screenshot or photo. We decode it instantly in the browser.
Your browser needs camera permission (check the padlock icon), and camera scanning requires https — which this site always uses. On a desktop with no webcam, use image upload instead.
Blur, low contrast or too small in frame are the usual causes. Retake closer and sharper, or run through our not-scanning checklist.
This tool reads QR codes only — standard product barcodes (EAN/UPC) are a different format.
The generator side of this site makes all 20 types free — logos, colours, print files.
